From Lumber to Legacy: The Reimagining of The Lumberyard
When we first stepped inside the old Graves Lumberyard building, we could still feel the echoes of its history. The creak of the floorboards, the worn beams, the stacks of lumber that once built homes and dreams for families in Seneca. It was more than just a building—it was a piece of our town’s story.
We couldn’t shake the feeling that this place had more to give. What if these walls could be filled again with energy, creativity, and connection? What if The Lumberyard could become a space that not only honored its past but also sparked a new future for our community?
That vision became the heartbeat of The Lumberyard Seneca.

Together, we’ve worked to breathe new life into this historic space. Today, it holds so much more than we first imagined:
- A coffee shop where neighbors gather and new friendships begin.
- Private offices that give entrepreneurs and professionals a place to grow.
- A retail shop supporting local makers and small business.
- A Farmers Market to support and share the talents of local farmers, artisans and small businesses.
- An Art Gallery to gather, reflect and connect through culture
For us, this is more than a project—it’s a calling. We believe that a rising tide lifts all ships, and The Lumberyard is our way of building a stronger, more connected community.
This blog will be our space to share the journey with you: the stories of local businesses, upcoming events, behind-the-scenes progress, and the unfolding of all that’s yet to come.
We’re so grateful you’re here at the beginning with us. We are just getting started and the best part of this story is that it’s not just ours—it’s yours too. Together, we’re building something meaningful, right here in Seneca.
With gratitude,
Dave & Erin Stuedemann
